De foxtail palm has only recently been discovered in 1978 when an aboriginal brought it under the attention of a botanist. There was a single population in Cape Melville in Queensland, Australia. It's a beautiful palm because of its plume-like leaves that can get 2-3 meters. This species also grows strong and easily, which is why it's already spread out in gardens all over the world. This plant can be kept outside in the summer in a sunny spot, but should be brought inside if the temperature drops below -4 degrees Celcius. After a white bloom orange fruits of about 5 cm will form with these beautifully structured seeds.Sowing description: Soak the seeds in luke warm water for 48 hours and sow in a mix of sowing ground and cocopeat at 25-30 degrees celcius. Keep the soil moist.

Mijn zus en ik hebben deze zaden besteld. We hebben deze vrij snel toegekregen, we hebben de procedure uitgevoerd zoals vermeld op de begeidende nota doch, nu maanden later, steeds binnen op een zekere temperatuur gehouden, hebben wij geen resultaten.
Wij zijn dus niet tevreden. En we raden dit niet aan te kopen.

Ik heb de vossenstaartpalm inmiddels al 4 jaar en hij doet het erg goed. Erg mooie plant en gemakkelijk te kiemen en verzorgen!
