The forest lily produces pink flowers on long stems up to 60 cm high. The flowers are pollinated by birds, and naturally bloom during winter. The plant has glossy leaves and an underground tuber, which protects the plant against drought, and preserves nutrients in winter. The plant grows well in the shadow, and can in temperate climates be grown as a container plant at a minimum temperature of -5 degC.

Sowing description: Sow the seeds in sowing mix and keep the soil constantly moist. Let the seeds germinate at a day temperature of 20-25 degrees Celcius, and a night temperature of 10-15 degrees Celcius.
