The Chinese toon is a hardy tree that can grow up to a maximum of 25 meters. The fruit, bark and roots have an important role in traditional Chinese medicine, and would break down cancer cells and counteract diabetes. Young leaves are used in China as a vegetable, and the taste is similar to onion or garlic. The leaves are for example added to rice, salads or scrambled eggs. Sowing description: Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours, and refresh the water after every 6 hours. Sow the seeds in sowing mix, cover the soil with foil or glass and let them germinate at 25 degC.
