Product description

The bananadilla thanks its name to the tasteful oblong yellow fruits. It is also called the banana-passionflower. The pink flowers hang elegantly from long stalks. The stalks and leaves are hairy and perish in autumn in temperate climates. Because the species grows in the Andes up to an altitude of 3600 meters, it is resistant to lower temperatures up to a minimum of -3 degC. In nature the plant is evergreen and grow up to 20 m in height. It is a beautiful climbing plant.

Sowing description: Soak the seeds for 24 hours in orange- or lemonjuice, then sow them in sowing mix. Keep the soil constantly moist, cover with plastic foil or glass and let the seeds germinate in a warm and bright spot indoors. Germination can take a few weeks or months.

Jayro

I followed the instructions and after about 1 month the first seed started to sprout. And then every week another seed sprouted. In the end, among my 5 seeds I got 6 plants ! Indeed I ordered 5 seeds but I received an extra one that looked malformed and not ready. But even that one sprouted ! Nowadays they are doing fine and growing well. If everything goes well I expect flowers (and fruits after cross pollination with other passiflora species) next year.
Delivery was fast, instructions were clear, all good.

2 zaden in potje gedaan op 1 maart. Vandaag 16 maart is er 1 van de 2 uitgekomen. De andere kan ik helaas nergens meer vinden. Ook hier erg te vrede en benieuwd hoe het gaat vorderen.
