Family: Passifloraceae
Scientific name: Passiflora capsularis
Common name: Passionflower
Origin: South America

A very peculiar passion flower from the northwestern regions of South America, with stars-haped white flowers that smell like vanilla. The fruits are purplish red, oval-shaped and ribbed. When the fruits are ripe, they burst open and the (non-edible) pulp and the seeds become visible. The plant remains small and can be kept at a minimum temperature of 5 degC, and is therefore suitable as either an indoor or container plant in temperate climates.

Sowing description: Soak the seeds for 24-48 hours in orange- or lemon juice, then sow them in sowing mix. Keep the soil constantly moist, cover with plastic foil or glass and let the seeds germinate in a warm and bright spot indoors.

Sowing time: Whole year
Difficulty: Intermediate
Minimum temperature: 5 degrees Celcius

Ze hebben maanden gestaan maar geen van de zaadjes is opgekomen. Wel netjes in sinaasappelsap gewerkt volgens instructies. Iemand tips?
