While most passionflowers originate from South America, this is one of the few species from Australia. The red passionflower produces a great amount of beautiful flowers which grow up to 10 cm in diameter. The flowers don’t fully open and will change colour, from yellow to orange to red, within the flowering period of a couple of days. This way multiple flower colours can be on the plant at the same time. The 5 cm big fruits are green and edible. Due to the compact growth of the plant it grows well as an indoor plant.
