Product description

This banana species has a beautiful pink inflorescence which is followed by sweet pink edible bananas. Naturally the plant stays small (maximum 2 meters), and is therefore very suitable to grow in a pot or container. Already after 2 years the plant can start to flower. It is best to protect the plant against frost, but the roots can survive a minimum of -5 degC. However, the stem and leaves will die when exposed to frost. A sheltered stand without (too much) direct sunlight is recommended.

Sowing description: Sand the seeds with sanding paper and soak them in lukewarm water for 48 hours. Sow the seeds in sowing mix and keep the soil constantly moist by covering the soil with plastic foil or glass. Let the seeds germinate in a warm spot indoors (for example in the sun or near a heater). Germination can take a few weeks or months, and can still occur as long as the seeds are firm.

one seed has already germinated

These are erratic in germination from what I read but it's been a month since I soaked them and put them in damp paper towel in a sealed bag and one of them has germinated which is great. Looking forward to the rest of them :)
