Product description

Now, the dragon tree rarely grows in the wild, but there is still an old individual in the northwest of Tenerife with an estimated age of 250 years. Because it is a monocot, the strain does not form annual rings, and the age can be estimated only on the basis of the number of branches. The name dragon tree originates from the sap that turns red when exposed to oxygen. After damage, it therefore seems as if the tree is bleeding. During the Middle Ages, it was believed that this red resin was the blood of dragons. It is a slow grower that performs well as a houseplant.

Sowing description: Scarify the seeds with some sand paper and then soak them in lukewarm water for 24 hours. For sowing use sowing mix and keep the temperature around 25 degrees Celcius. The soil needs to be constantly moist, but not wet. Germination can occur after several weeks to months.

Germination took three and a half months, and since I planted the seeds already in February, I also helped them with artificial lighting. Thank you very much, I am very happy :)
