Common name:
Flamboyant / Royal Poinciana

The flamboyant is a very beautiful tree with beautiful pinnate leaves and abundant flowering of 10 cm wide, bright red flowers. The up to 12 meter high tree originally grew in the drier forests of Madagascar, but is now cultivated all over the world. In its native habitat, the tree is even nearly extinct.

The species can be kept in a sunny place with a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. Even if it stays small, the species is very graceful to see, and definitely worth a container.

Germination instructions:
First soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours. Then sow them in sowing mix and let them germinate at around 25 degC. Keep the soil constantly moist.

Sowing time:
All year round
