Family: Rubiaceae
Scientific name: Coffea arabica 'nana'
Common name: Dwarf Arabica coffee
Origin: Ethiopia
The dwarf variety of the Arabica coffee is even more suited to produce your own coffee. The plant stays small and starts producing its first berries after 3 or 4 years. These are just like the ones of the common Arabica, but grow on a smaller plant. Ideal for your living room.
You can remove the fruit flesh of the harvested berries, so only the seeds remain. Then you can dry these and remove the shell (which will loosen up a bit). Roast on a fire or in frying pan, and you’ll have your own coffee beans! Protect the plant against bright sun and water regularly.
Also available in the Africa seed package!
