The spice bush or melon tree proves to be a great addition to your garden. The bush can reach a height of 3 meters, is fully hardy and produces a lot of brownish-red flowers. The flowers spread a fragrance that resembles to melon, but is sometimes also associated with pineapple, strawberry or banana. Other parts of the plant also spread scents that smell like spices. In any case, the plant bursts with odours which can be smelled throughout the entire garden. In addition, it’s a very primitive plant: the flowers belong to the first species of evolution. Provide a sunny spot.
