The peanut butter tree originates from Venezuela & Columbia and produces small, red-orange fruits that taste like peanut butter. The fruits can be eaten fresh or processed into jam or e.g. a milkshake (common in the US). The fruit flesh is soft, and in the middle you can find a large seed. It’s a tropical plant which can also be kept as a houseplant. Water the plant regularly and provide a sunny spot.

Sowing description: The seeds are only available a couple of times during the year and can only be shortly kept. Sow as soon as possible, after you’ve received your order.

Sow the seeds in sowing mix at 25 deg Celcius. Keep the soil constantly moist.

Difficulty: Intermediate
Minimum temperature: 15 degrees Celcius
