The Indian thorny bamboo is the largest species of the genus Bambusa, with vines up to 40 meters high and 25 cm thick. The species produces sharp thorns and black stems that turn green. Young shoots are cooked and eaten as a vegetable in India and China, while the old stems are used for construction purposes. It’s a tropical bamboo which mainly grows close to rivers in humid forests, so the species can be kept as a houseplant in a temperate climate.

Sowing description: First soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours. Then sow them in sowing mix at a temperature of 25 degC.

Top! 2dagen laten weken in water, zaaien in zaai en stekgrond na 2 dagen al ontkieming! Sommige na een week, wat ook zeer snel is! Snelle en goede service!

Wegens ruimtegebrek lang niet alles gezaaid, maar toch 12 goed groeiende plantjes gekweekt! Op warme plek in huis, in glazen pot.

enkele dagen heb ik ze in het water gehad. daarna in zaai en stekgrond. het duurde 2 dagen voordat ze begonnen met kiemen! aanrader dus
