Description

The soursop, guanábana or graviola is a fruit that is cultivated widely for consumption in many tropical countries. In Europe, the fruit is sometimes used in fruit juice, like ‘Appelsientje Mango en Guanábana”. In nature, it’s a small tree which grows up to 4 meters high and can be kept as a container plant in a temperate climate, with a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius. The fruits can be up to 30 cm wide and usually have a weight of 6 kg. They are green, have small, soft spines and white flesh that tastes sour. In Indonesia, the fruit is sometimes called the Dutch Durian (Durian balando/belanda), because the Dutch would find the fruit more delicious in comparison to the real, stinking Durian.

Sowing description: First soak seeds for 48 hours in lukewarm water. Sow them in sowing mix and keep the soil moist constantly. Let them germinate around 25-30 degC.
