Common name: Siberian kiwi Origin: Japan/Northern China Description: A variety of kiwi whose leaves are quite remarkable. After a couple of years they will look as if they have been dipped in paint. The plant can self-pollinate so the sweet, edible fruits can also grow on a single plant. A sheltered place in the sun gives the best fruits in a temperate climate, though the plant itself is hardy up to -40 degrees Celsius. Germination instructions: Keep the seeds in the refrigerator for the first 4-8 weeks , then sow them in sowing soil at 20 degrees Celsius. If there is no germination after a few weeks, you can re-refrigerate the seeds. After 4-8 weeks, take the seeds out again and keep them in a warm space or environment.
