The blue-green, turquoise colour of the flowers looks extraordinary. They grow in clusters of sometimes as many as 100 flowers, with the length of a flower cluster reaching 3 metres in the rainforest. The beak-like shape makes them accessible to bats that come to drink the nectar, pollinating the flowers in the process. After pollination, the flowers are followed by oval-shaped fruits containing up to 12 large, angular seeds.The jade flower is native to the rainforest in northern Philippines. Unfortunately, due to logging, natural populations have largely disappeared, but in botanical gardens, for example, the plant can be found with some regularity. It is a climbing plant that can grow to a height of 20 metres in the rainforest. The plant likes a sunny location, so a heated conservatory or greenhouse would be ideal. But the species also does quite well as a houseplant, where you can have it climbing along a large window, for example. Provide a nutrient-rich, well-drained soil and water the plant regularly.
Sowing description: The large seed has already germinated and can be planted immediately after receipt in a well-drained soil with organic material. 25-30grC would be the optimum temperature for the first few weeks.

Seriously come on!! I saw this plant in a botanical garden and fell in love. I was Stunned to find them here. When I got the seed it had already germinated. A month under a led lamp and it’s taken off! Literally I have no idea how I am going to handle this speed of growth.

Seeds arrived in great condition, they started sprouting in just 2 weeks of adapting.
Wij hebben 2 zaden ruim 5 weken geleden gezaad in een 2,5 liter pot, afgedekt met folie en in onze serre geplaatst. Temperatuur 25-30 graden. Helaas, geen resultaat, heel erg jammer!!!
I received two fresh and healthy on July 26, 2023; I sowed them in a pot with substrate that I use to grow Amorphophallus, and placed it in a greenhouse without temperature regulation. In less than a month, the two seeds had germinated and by October 2 they were both over two meters long.
I left the pot in the greenhouse, all winter, and the plants are in perfect condition. They stopped growing during the winter months, but did not die. The greenhouse is not heated and they had to endure outside night temperatures of around 4ºC. During one or 2 days it is possible that it dropped by up to 2ºC.
Het zaad is na enkele weken ontkiemd, én de zaailing groeit pijlsnel. Heel erg blij met de eerste resultaten. We gaan er alles aan doen om de plant in leven te houden. :-)
