Product description

This rare palm species is one of the tallest and fastest-growing palms in the world. Its height can reach 50 metres in the tropics with a growth rate of up to 2 metres per year. The palm is found only on Sulawesi in Indonesia. Around 450-900 metres altitude and generally in open spots of the rainforest. The species has a shiny, green trunk that is popular locally as a construction material. The petioles have many dark spines and these make even a young plant special to see.

It is a tropical species that can be kept as a houseplant. The plant needs a sunny location, nutrient-rich soil and plenty of water. If humidity is low, you can spray the leaves with water regularly.

Sowing description: Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours, then sow in sowing soil at 25-30grC. Keep soil constantly slightly moist, after which germination usually occurs within a few weeks.

17 januari jl. 10 zaden besteld
