Big Batwing Passionflower (Passiflora megacoriacea)

Product description

The big batwing passionflower has striking leaves that resemble batwings with their transverse shape and leathery texture. This shape is expressed as the plant ages. The leaves can reach a width up to 25 cm. The flowers are yellow-green with a yellow centre. This relatively heavy bloomer is native to the tropical part of Central America and Colombia. The fast-climbing passion flower also produces small non-edible passion fruits. Due to its tropical origin, this plant can only be grown indoors, where you can water it regularly. Between waterings, let the soil dry out. The species can climb or hang from a hanging pot. 

Sowing description: Soak the seeds for 24 hours in orange juice and then sow in sowing and cutting soil. Keep soil constantly moist, cover with cling film or glass and allow to germinate in a warm (20-30 deg C) and light place indoors. Germination can take several weeks to months.
