The fan-shaped leaves of this palm species form almost a complete circle, as they may overlap at the petiole. They can reach 60 cm in size and have a beautiful sheen and dark green colour. It is a rare species from the rainforest in northwest Borneo. There it can grow up to 1.5 metres high, making it a true dwarf palm. This also makes it suitable as a houseplant, but in the most tropical conditions possible. Therefore, make sure it has a warm and light spot without direct sunlight. Spray the leaves regularly with water if the humidity is below 70%. And provide a well-drained soil with organic matter that you can water when it is dry.
Sowing description: The already germinated seed can be transferred directly into well-drained soil with organic matter. For initial development, a temperature of 25-30grC is optimal.
