Description

The 5 cm big flowers grow in clusters and produce a wonderful fragrance similar to the normal frangipani (which is known as the most deliciously fragrant flower in the world). They color from white to yellow and are visited in nature by bees, butterflies and birds. The species is found in the rainforest in northern Australia, as well as in New Guinea. There it grows as a tree and can then reach a height of up to 20 meters. Outside the dense rainforest, it usually stays somewhat smaller at a few meters. Besides the graceful flowers, the large, glossy leaves are also attractive to look at.

In our homes the species can be kept as a tub or houseplant, where it should be kept frost-free for the winter. Provide a sunny location and well-drained soil with organic matter. It is best to water the soil as soon as it becomes dry. But it is important that the soil is not too wet, but merely moist. If necessary, the plant can be pruned well if it gets too big.

Sowing description: Sow seeds shallowly in sowing and cutting soil, keeping the soil constantly slightly moist. Germination usually after a few weeks at a temperature of 25-30 deg C.
