This is a rare and beautiful Anthurium species from the rainforests of Costa Rica to Nicaragua. The plant is notable for its large, triangular leaves that can grow up to half a meter long and wide. In nature, the plant grows as an epiphytic climbing plant in the bottom layer of the rainforest. Its roots provide attachment to the tree and collect rainwater. Since the roots are not used to soil, the plant can be kept in highly permeable soil. A good soil would be orchid soil, that can possibly be mixed with Spaghnum moss, coconut soil and/or sand. In a pot, the plant can reach a maximum height of about 1-1.2 meters. The soil mixture can constantly be kept slightly moist and is best not to get too dry or too wet. Due to its rainforest origin, it is important to regularly spray the plant's leaves with water to mimic the high humidity. Avoid a location with full sun, indirect sunlight and shade are better. During flowering, the plant forms a greenish yellow spadix with a light green spathe.
Sowing description: The seed has already germinated and can be planted in a mixture of Sphagnum-moss and soil (e.g. coconut soil or seed and cutting soil). Cover the whole in the first stage with foil or glass for a while, but later it can be further raised in living room conditions. Provide a warm spot without direct sunlight.
