Description

The leaf of this Anthurium species is delicately haired and thus soft to the touch. The light veins form a nice contrast with the dark green color of the leaf, making this a graceful species to behold. The leaves can eventually reach a size of 90 cm, but usually remain somewhat smaller outside the tropics. The leaf stalk has a quadrangular shape. When mature, the plant can bloom with a green inflorescence that is followed by red berries after pollination.

The species is found in the rainforests of Colombia where it occurs as an epiphyte in trees or on rocks. Due to its growth as an epiphyte, it is important to provide a very airy soil with e.g. Sphagnum moss, perlite and orchid soil. In addition, it is important to choose a light position without direct sunlight and to regularly spray the leaves with water.

Sowing description: The already germinated seed can further develop in Sphagnum moss in a warm place ( 22-30 deg C). At the formation of the first leaves transfer to a previously mentioned airy soil mixture.
