Product description

The main attraction point of this rare Anthurium is its distinctive circular shape of the leaf. Unlike most Anthurium species, A. forgetii lacks the typical sinus or indentation where the petiole attaches to the leaf. This unique leaf shape in combination with its silvery white veins and velvet look, makes them a good addition to any anthurium collection. The leaves remain relatively small with a size of around 10-15 cm, giving the plant a compact form. The flower of this Anthurium species is fairly subtle, however the largely green spathe can show some purple colouration around the edges.

The species is found in the rainforests of Colombia where it occurs as an epiphyte in trees or on rocks. Due to its growth as an epiphyte, it is important to provide a very airy soil with e.g. Sphagnum moss, perlite and orchid soil. In addition, it is important to choose a light position without direct sunlight and to mist the leaves regularly.

Sowing description: The seed can be germinated (further) in Sphagnum moss at a temperature of 22 to 28 deg C. After the formation of the first roots, it can be transferred to a well-drained, airy soil.
