This Alocasia species is found in the rainforests of Borneo. Usually on slopes from sea level to 1200 metres altitude, where several stems can develop from a rhizome. The plant can grow to a height of 2 metres, with leaves reaching a size of about 60 cm. They are arrow-shaped and glossy. Leaf colour can vary, but the mother plant of these seeds has a fairly light colour with dark veins. See the photo for this. The inflorescence consists of a pinkish-white spathe and a cream-coloured spadix. The flowers are followed by orange-red berries containing 1 seed.
Provide a bright spot without direct sunlight and spray the leaves regularly with water at a humidity below 60%. The plant likes a well-drained soil with organic matter that can be kept constantly slightly moist.
Sowing description: The already germinated seed can be planted directly in a well-drained soil with organic matter. For initial development, 25-30grC is optimal.
