The silvery spots make the leaves of this Aglaonema species a striking appearance. The pattern is similar to that of Aglaonema pictum, but the spots are larger and can occupy a large part of the leaf. The species is found in swampy areas of Borneo and Sumatra, making it accustomed to humid conditions. With a maximum height of 60 cm, the plant remains quite small. Growing in the understorey of the rainforest, the plant copes well with little daylight. Too much light can even cause the absence of the stain pattern. When growing it as a houseplant, therefore, make sure it is placed in a spot without direct sunlight, but where it does get daylight. In addition, make sure the soil is well-drained and constantly moist. A stable temperature of 20-25°C and high humidity are optimal.
It can also flower as a houseplant with a white inflorescence followed by orange-red berries.

Sowing description: The seed has a short shelf life and is best sown soon after receipt. First remove any fruit remnants and then sow it in a mix of sphagnum moss (for sale in garden centres) and sand (1:1) at 20-25 grC. Keep constantly slightly moist. Germination usually after a few weeks, but can follow as long as the seed is hard.
