Description

This decorative Acacia species blooms abundantly with bright yellow flowers in many heads. Sometimes, with so many at once that the branches bend downwards due to the weight of the flowers. The yellow color is among the brightest of all Acacia species and thus contrasts beautifully with the gray-green, pinnate leaves. The species originally grows in the dry grasslands around the city of Mudgee in southeastern Australia, so the plant naturally withstands drought well. It is a fairly fast grower, often producing its first flowers as early as the second or third year. The flowers are pollinated by bees and are followed by 10 cm large pods. The minimum temperature of the plant is around -8 degrees Celsius, so in the most of Europe it can even be planted outside. Make sure that the soil is well-drained and has a sunny location.

Sowing directions: First, sand the seeds in one spot with sandpaper, until there is a visible difference in color. Then soak for 24 hours in water and sow in seed ground at 20-25 degrees Celsius. Keep soil slightly moist constantly.

Dick

In maart 2022 gezaaid en nu op 13 mei 2024 voor de tweede keer opgepot. Ontkiemen binnen enkele dagen en nu een volle plant met een stevig "stammetje" van circa 7 mm. P9 potje was geheel geworteld.

Deze kiemden na 2 dagen al, als ze groeien zoals ze kiemen. Dan zit ik met een berg planten..ha.ha
