The leaves of this Alocasia species have a blue-gray color on top and a reddish purple color underneath. The veins are dark green and the entirety of it looks so striking and graceful. It is a relatively small species with 5 to 6 leaves at a time that stay fairly close to the ground. Naturally, the species grows in northwestern Borneo, especially on limestone-rich slopes in the lowland rainforest.

Provide a well-drained soil with plenty of organic material, such as Sphagnum moss and tree bark. The plant also likes a bright location without direct sunlight and a relatively high humidity of 70% or higher. If the humidity is lower, you can spray the leaves regularly with water (and then let the water dry). It is best to keep the soil slightly moist, where it is important not to keep it too wet or too dry.

Sowing description: The seed can be germinated (further) in Sphagnum moss at a temperature of 25 to 30 deg C. After the formation of the first roots, it can be transferred to a well-drained, airy soil.
