Description

The Manna Gum is also known as “Sugar Gum” and should be provided with a sheltered, sunny spot and is hardy to about -15 degrees Celsius. It is the most popular eucalyptus with koalas. The juice namely contains 5-15% sugar. In nature, this tree is extremely high. In the northeast of Tasmania, they are known as 'White Knights' of which the highest reaches 91.3 meters and thus is among the highest eucalyptus trees in the world. The old bark long lasts on the trunk, sometimes giving it a quirky look and is coloured yellowish-white and grey. The tree can be hundreds of years old and occurs at an altitude of about 1.400 meters.

Sowing description: Sow the seeds on the surface of sowing mix and keep the soil constantly moist. Let them germinate at 20 degC on a bright spot.
