This is a rare, climbing species from the aroid family that occurs in the lowland rainforests of New Guinea. The species climbs trees and can produce aerial roots to obtain sufficient nutrients. The leathery leaves grow up to 30 cm in size, are lanceolate and have decorative veins. The “Variegata” form of this species, in which leaves have white parts, is often kept in plant collections. This variegated mutation is rare in nature, while in cultivation the completely green plants are very rare. The inflorescence is green-white in colour and 10-15 cm in size.
Keep the plant in a light spot without direct sunlight and provide well-drained, constantly moist soil.
Sowing description: Sow the germinated seeds directly in well-drained soil with organic material. Keep the soil constantly slightly moist and a temperature of 25-30°C is optimal for initial development.
