Product description

The Mountain Soursop forms green, 15 cm fruits with pale yellow flesh. They have a sour flavour that makes them suitable for soft drinks, ice cream and desserts, but they can also be eaten as a hand fruit. The species is native to the Caribbean, where it grows as a tree to a height of about 15 metres. The species can withstand low temperatures relatively well, so the trees are kept in South America to altitudes of 2,000 metres. In Europe, we can keep the species as a container plant, keeping 0 degC as the minimum temperature. Make sure it has a sunny location and well-drained soil (e.g. potting soil:sand, 3:1). The leaves have a graceful sheen, making it an attractive plant to look at. After 5-6 years, the plant may flower for the first time with yellow-green flowers that are self-pollinating.

Sowing description: The already germinated seeds can be transferred directly into a mixture of potting soil and sand (3:1). Keep soil constantly slightly moist and allow to develop further in a light location.
