Description

The ylang-ylang is known of its oil that is extracted from the flowers. The flowers smell lovely (especially in the evening), which is why the ylang-ylang is ideal as a houseplant. The oil is used in aromatherapy against high blood pressure and skin problems, but is also used in perfumery in perfumes such as Chanel no. 5. The star-shaped flowers are white at first, and then change colour from greenish yellow, to orange in the end. It’s a fast grower that likes to be sprinkled with water and must be moved to a fairly bright spot.

Sowing description: Sow the seeds in sowing mix and let them germinate at 25-30 degC. Keep the soil constantly moist. Germination should take place after 4 to 8 weeks, but can take longer.

In 2 jaar, 3 keer geprobeerd de Ylang te kweken. Geen van de 30 zaden gekiemd. Zelfs niet in verwarmde kweekbak.

In 17 April 2021 had de zaden gekocht en in de voor jaar (binnen) in Mei 2021:had ik geprobeerd maar de zaden ontkiemde. Jammer! En afgelopen 17 Juni 2022 heb ik weer 2 zaden geprobeerd maar tot vandaag 24 Juni 2022 de zaden niks gebeurd. Ik ga eventjes nog wachten.

Zaden ontvangen in mei en direct gezaaid volgens beschrijving. Nu, een paar maand later, eind juli niets opgekomen en ook geen teken dat dit nog gaat gebeuren…

Heb via internet gezocht naar andere methoden, weer geprobeerd: niks.
Geen enkele van mijn zaden ontkiemde.

Dit is gebeurd met al de zaden die ik besteld heb van verschillende planten.

Wonderlijk, donderdag de zaden gezaaid en op dinsdag al de eerste ontkieming!!! Dus wel hele verse kwaliteit.
