This is a as yet undescribed Amorphophallus species that was recently (2026) discovered in the rainforests of West Sulawesi, Indonesia. It has since been established in cultivation to safeguard the species, making it possible to offer these seeds. It is a large Amorphophallus species with an inflorescence approximately 2 metres high. The spathe is purple-red in colour with a yellow centre. The spadix is dark brown and protrudes considerably from the inflorescence. The leaves have dark petioles with light spots and grow to a height of approximately 3 metres.
This species can be cultivated in the same way as other tropical Amorphophallus species. Ensure the soil is well-drained and keep it slightly moist during the dormant period. A bright spot without direct sunlight is suitable, and a temperature of 25–30 °C aids initial development.
Sowing instructions: The pre-germinated seed can be sown directly into well-drained soil containing organic matter and, for example, perlite. A temperature of 25–30 °C is optimal for initial development.
