Common name: Orange flamboyant Origin: Madagascar Description: The orange variety of flamboyant is rarely seen and has bright orange flowers in contrast to the red or yellow flowers of other varieties. The orange flamboyant can be kept at a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius on a warm, sunny place. At a young age, it is a beautiful plant with graceful pinnate leaves.
Germination instructions: First soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours. Then sow them in sowing mix and let them germinate at around 25 degC. Keep the soil constantly moist. Sowing time: All year round

Het is slechts bij 1 zaadje gelukt deze te laten ontkomen. Maar die doet het wel heel erg goed: kan in volle zon, zelfs boven verwarming. Mooie decoratieve kuipplant.
Zaden lastig te ontkiemen, met cocospluggen ontkiemen de zaden wel goed. Dit komt omdat de dikke pitten constant vochtig gehouden moeten worden om te kunnen ontkiemen. Ze groeien hard en worden nogal snel groot. (0,5m hoog in 5L pot en 1-2 meter in 25L pot)
Er 2 goed uitgekomen en deze groeien snel. Andere zaden zijn nog hard, dus die laat ik nog zitten. Hopelijk ontkiemen die nog. Erg leuk dat de blaadjes savonds dicht gaan en sochtends weer open.
