Description

Arabica coffee is the most cultivated coffee species in the world (around 75% of total global production). The species originates from the rural areas of south-western Ethiopia where it has been cultivated for over a thousand years. Arabica coffee has a better taste compared to other coffee species, because it contains less caffeine, therefore tasting less bitter. After the white flowers, red berries follow (drupes) which each contain two coffee beans. Coffee performs well as a houseplant. Protect the plant against the sun.

Sowing description: First soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours. Then sow them with the flat side down in sowing mix. Let them germinate at 25 degC and keep the soil constantly moist.
