Product description

The yellow kangaroo paw can be kept as a container plant in a temperate climate, because the plant can’t withstand frost. Because the plant does not grow large by nature (about 1m high), a container/pot is well suited for a patio or balcony. The kangaroo paw produces a rhizome (rootstock) which enables the plant to survive after a forest fire: through the rhizome, the plant can grow again. The flowers are pollinated in Australia by birds with longs beaks who can drink the nectar out of the flowers. Up to 350 flowers can be formed per plant. An extraordinary amount if you ask me.

Hogendoorn

Gezaaid in maart. Slechts 1 zaadje gekiemd. Nu 3 cm boven de grond. Hopen dat deze het overleefd.

TripleT

High germination rate on a 1:1 sand: peat subrate. To break dormancy some wood ash was mixed in the subrstate. In roughly 3 weeks germination occurred.
