Product description

A rare species from northern Borneo where it grows in the understory of the rainforest. It is a small-growing plant with leaves that can grow to about 10 cm in size. These are quite thick and leathery, but are particularly notable for their puckered surface and beautiful sheen. Young leaves are coloured brown at first and have an almost pink underside. As it unfolds, the colour slowly changes to dark green. There is uncertainty about the correct name for this species and whether it has been described at all. This is the case with several Labisia species with very distinctive leaves, but for which there is apparently no proper documentation. We will stick with 'Dino' for now, as the plant has become known to collectors by that name.

It is a slow grower that does best in a light location without direct sunlight and with high humidity. If the humidity is below 70 percent, it may be good to spray the leaves with water regularly. In addition, provide a highly well-drained soil with organic matter that can be kept constantly slightly moist.

Sowing description: The already germinated seed can be transferred directly into well-drained soil with organic matter. A temperature of 25-30grC is optimal for initial development.
