Home-Tropical-Tronok palm (Iguanura wallichiana var. wallichiana)
Product description
The tronok palm is a rare and elegant palm from Malaysia, Thailand and Sumatra with fishtail-shaped leaves. In nature, the palm grows as undergrowth in low-lying tropical forests, where the trunk of this variety grows in clusters to a height of approximately 3 metres. The graceful leaves grow up to 1.5 metres long and are incised, unlike the similar Ig. wallichiana var. major. This makes the leaves look somewhat like a feather. New leaves change colour from orange-red to green.
In temperate climates, this tropical palm can be kept as a houseplant. Ensure well-drained soil and a location with shade or indirect light. The species thrives in high temperatures (>22 °C) and high humidity. If necessary, spray the leaves regularly to create this.
Sowing description: After receiving the germinated seed, it can be sown immediately in sowing and cutting soil. Keep the soil constantly slightly moist and cover for higher humidity. Place in a location with indirect sunlight and a temperature around 25-30 °C.
