Description

This is a rare Arisaema species found scattered in rainforests in Asia. There are populations in Yunnan, Thailand, Java and on some small Indonesian islands in the southeast. The inflorescence is mainly white-green in colour, but a dark mottled pattern is usually visible around the inflorescence spathe. Notable in the inflorescence are the sinuous filaments that grow at the end of the spadix and can emerge from the inflorescence. The inflorescence can grow to about 50 cm in height and this size is similar to that of the leaves. Both the leaf and flower stalk are lightly mottled. After pollination, the flowers are followed by orange-red berries, each containing 1-4 seeds.

The species can be kept as a houseplant in a light position without direct sunlight. Provide well-drained soil and keep it constantly slightly moist. Unlike many other Arisaema species, this tropical species has no dormancy period, so leaves will always be visible.

Sowing description: The already germinated seed can further develop into Sphagnum moss. When the first leaves form, it can be transferred to well-drained soil with organic matter.
