Product description

This rare Anthurium comes from southeastern Brazil and grows as an epiphyte in trees and on rocks. It grows in dense forests, so the plant is naturally accustomed to little sunlight. From a creeping leaf rosette grow oblong leaves of 20 cm in size and sometimes the plant can also flower. This happens with a typical arum inflorescence with a light pink bract and a green spadix. After pollination, this is followed by purple fruits. Because the plant naturally remains relatively small (max. 50 cm), it is also suitable for terrariums and vivariums.

When growing as a houseplant, ensure a position without direct sunlight and water the leaves regularly. Because it is an epiphyte and therefore does not naturally grow with its roots in soil, it is important to provide a very airy soil. For example, a mix of potting soil, orchid soil and Sphagnum moss is suitable, but you can also choose something else airy.

Sowing description: The already germinated seed can further develop in Sphagnum moss in a warm place ( 22-30 degC). At the formation of the first leaves transfer to a previously mentioned airy soil mixture.
