Product description

This is a rare Anthurium with round leaves that have strikingly wide, light-colored leaf veins. The variety 'Dorayaki' thus differs from the original Anthurium crystallinum with oval leaves and thinner veins. The leaves of this variety also have a beautiful sheen and are relatively thick. Because of its round leaves, the plant is named after Japanese filled pancakes called dorayaki.

The species originates in the rainforest of Central and South America. There, the plant grows as an epiphyte in trees and remains quite small at a maximum of 1 meter. The inflorescence is characteristic of the arum family and consists of a green bract and a green-brown spadix. The plant can be kept as a houseplant, where it is important to use a well-drained soil (e.g. orchid soil, cactus soil and perlite). The plant also likes high humidity, so you can water the leaves regularly. It is best to water the soil as soon as it is dry. Also make sure the plant is placed in a light spot without direct sunlight.

Sowing description: The seed can be germinated in a light place (without direct sunlight) in a transparent bag with Spaghnum-moss. As soon as the first leaves are formed, you can transfer it to a well-drained soil with e.g. also the Spaghnum-moss. Allow the young plant to gradually get used to a lower humidity in the living room and keep the pot/tray closed with foil or glass.

Mooi gekiemd zaadje ontvangen in Sphagnum.

Dasha

Anthurium arrived in sphagnum moss, already germinated, and with one tiny, tiny leaf.
After about 24 days, there are now 2 leaves in total, it is still very tiny but it's growing and looks very cute.
The envelope with seeds had additional protection and was sent very quickly, thank you!
