Product description

The light colored leaves have many dark colored veins and that makes it a special appearance. It is a rare species that is mainly known in culture and whose natural origin is still unclear. In any case, it lies in the rainforest of northern Sulawesi. However, it is not yet clear whether it is a new species, a hybrid or cross of an existing species (e.g., a mutation of Alocasia portei). In any case, the plant can be found in collections under the name 'Tandurusa' or 'Jacklyn' and botanists will have to start determining under which name it can be officially registered.

It is a tropical species that likes high humidity (>70%) and relatively high temperature (22-28 deg C). Furthermore, it is important to provide a bright location without direct sunlight and a well-drained, constantly moist soil. The plant remains quite small with a maximum of 1 meter in height and also produces graceful, spotted petioles.

Sowing description: The small tuber (1.5-2 cm) usually forms roots already upon arrival and can then be planted immediately in a well-drained, airy soil. E.g. a mixture of tree bark, perlite, sphagnum and coconut soil. If it has no roots yet, you can first let them develop in sphagnum-moss and then transfer them later.
